Gent Reject Brighton’s £8.3m Bid For Moses Simon

By Johnny Edward:

Belgian club Gent have turned down an £8.3m bid from newly promoted English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion for Nigeria winger Moses Simon, according to reports in Belgium.

Reports also claim Simon, who turned 22 on Wednesday, is also being monitored by Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Liverpool.

Simon joined Gent from Slovakian side Trencin in 2015 and scored five goals in 38 games for the Buffaloes last season.

Beligian outlet HNL reports that the Super Eagles star is being valued at £13m by Gent, who are aiming to reach the UEFA Europa League group stages.

Gent manager Michel Louwagie also told HNL that it will take a good offer to lure the Nigerian winger away from the club.

HNL adds that Brighton are prepared to add the Nigerian international to their ranks after snapping up Mathew Ryan, Josh Kerr, Markus Suttner and Pascal Gross ahead of their debut Premier League campaign.

Simon has made 11 international appearances for the Super Eagles since making his debut against Uganda in 2015.
