Ezeji: New CHAN Eagles Best Of The NPFL

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Former Rivers United striker Victor Ezeji has posited that the Nigerian home based players  invited for the 2018 African Nations Championship qualifying match against Togo or Benin Republic  are among the best in the Nigeria professional Football League, and urges those left out to work hard for their call up next time ahead of the competition, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Ezeji bared his mind to Completesportsnigeria.com on Saturday on the the composition of the team called up for camping by coach Salisu Yusuf.

“Most of the home-based players for the CHAN qualifier are the best in the NPFL,” Ezeji told Completesportsnigeria com

“Definitely, you’ll have people who will still not be satisfied by the coach’s selection.

“My advise for the players who will not be involved in those matches is that they redouble their efforts in their club games.

“I believe if they make the team subsequently for camping or competition proper the competitive edge will be there because they will be keen to prove the coaches wrong.

“But I must warn that the team take Togo or Benin seriously when they play either of them in August,” Ezeji who is now into Players Insurance concludes.

Players like Victor Mbaoma (Remo Stars)  and Chukwuka Onuwa (MFM)  were conspicuously missing from the team.

Mbaoma has scored ten goals in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season while midfielder Onuwa has nine assists to his credit thus far.
