Chinese Super League side, Jiangsu Suning, on Thursday completed the signing of Cameroon national team captain Benjamin Moukandjo from Belgian second division club Lorient on a  two-year €5.5 million deal, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The 28-year-old midfielder who was on duty for the Indomitable Lions at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia  arrived in China on Wednesday to complete his medical, and sign a two-year deal with the Fabio Capello coached outfit on Thursday.

Lorient were relegated to the French second tier at the end of last season.

The former Monaco and Nancy midfield ace who will lead the Indomitable Lions against the Super Eagles in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in August and September scored 13 goals in 25 appearances for the Merlus, but could not help them avoid the drop.

Moukandjo captained the Lions in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in Gabon in February where they defeated Egypt in the final.

Lorient’s 11 year-stint in Ligue 1 came to an end in May this year, 2017, as they lost out 2-1 on aggregate to Troyes in the play-offs which saw them relegated to the second tier with Bastia and Nancy.

He becomes the fourth Cameroon player in the Asian country after  Christian Bassogog and Stéphane Mbia and Olivier Boumal.
