It was a sad Sunday at Ibadan-ife expressway as 11 passengers were burnt beyond recognition, after a 18seater passenger bus collided with a petrol tanker.
The accident happened at a roundabout opposite Moremi Estate, in front of Energy Filling Station in Ile Ife.
The diesel tanker was trying to make a u-turn at the roundabout before the passenger bus rammed into it from behind.
The passenger bus, which was coming from ore, ondo state, caught fire instantly, and the passengers in the bus, who were unconscious at the moment became trapped in the vehicle.
Nine passengers were said to have died on the spot, while some of the victims, who were rescued, eventually gave up the ghost.
