Gov. SA advises students on voters registration

-To site cyber cafe in Ini LGA

Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Students Matters, Comrade Otobong Aquilla has advised students from Ini Local Government Area to take advantage of the ongoing voters registration across the country and get registered.

She gave the advice yesterday during an interactive session with students leaders held at Mun Jerry hotel in Ini LGA.

This according to her will enable them elect leaders of their choice during elections and also ensure good governance.

She noted that massive participation in the voter registration would enable the people to elect credible leaders.

“Without registering one will not be able to participate in any election, one will not be able to elect his or her person of choice. If you do not elect the right people , by the time they start rolling out policies it will affect everybody.

Comrade Aquilla stressed the need for them to mobilize students from their various institutions for the exercise.

Speaking on the achievements of Gov. Udom Emmanuel, Comrade Aquilla said the Governor has achieved much despite the current economic recession.

“I want to say that my Boss, the Governor has been able to sail this government despite the economic recession, by paying salaries as at when due, road constructions and other infrastructural development that we are witnessing in the state”.

She used the opportunity to intimate them of some projects the Governor has executed in the area, which include; the rice factory and construction of 3 major roads in the area and urged them to continue supporting him for him to deliver on his campaign promises.

She also informed them of her intention to site a cyber cafe with functional internet services for students in the area.

Also speaking, the Special Assistant to Governor on Inter Party Affairs, Hon Lawrence Udoh, thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the various life transforming projects he has executed in the area and promised that they will continue to support him throughout his 8 years.

He also commended the SA on Students Matters for carrying students in the state along in her social volunteer scheme which according him has “really touched the lives of students in the state”.

He promised to use his office to sensitize people on the need to get registered before the elections.

In their separate remarks, Comrade Imo Usoro, Worldwide President of Ini Students, Comrade Kubiat Ekpenyong, Comrade Ekpe Nsa, Comrade Innocent Udom and the chapter youth caucus chairman, Comrade Ekomobong Iseh thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointing one of them to be in charge of Students affairs and declare their support for him throughout his 8 years.

They also thanked Comrade Otobong Aquilla for promising to site a cyber cafe in the area, saying that it will ease the stress of students going to nearby local government areas to learn computer.
