LG BOSS COMMENCES NEW SECRETARIAT COMPLEX IN IBENO

…Commends Governor Emmanuel for Eket -Ibeno Road

All is now set for the construction of an ultra-modern Council Secretariat Complex in Ibeno, following  the ground breaking ceremony performed by the Transition Committee Chairman of Area, High Chief Williams Henry Mkpa in Ukpenekang.

At the ceremony in the council headquarters, Chief Mkpah said the foundation laying ceremony will soon be performed by the Governor of the State, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

Chief Mkpah disclosed that he was driven by the sterling performance of the governor to also impact on the well-being of his people, and also commended Mr Udom Emmanuel for opening up the area through the construction of Eket –Ibeno road.

He also announced that he will this week commence the payment of bursary to students from the area currently studying in tertiary institutions.

The commencement of the second phase of the Council Secretariat complex is remarkable, coming at a time people are saying in other places that the third tier of govt has lost its importance and was therefore no longer necessary because of complaints of paucity of funds.

He said all the building  materials such as sand, cement, iron rods, needed to commence the project have been put in place including man-power, as workers were readily mobilized to site for a project expected to be completed in 24 months

Mr Mkpah who led journalists round to see the acquired building materials, said his administration was all out to prove critics wrong with the one-storey secretariat that is expected to house about 24 offices with a large capacity conference room, and packing space.

Accompanied by other stakeholders from the three other local government Area of Eket federal constituency Eket, Esit Eket and Ibeno, High Chief Mkpah pledged to deliver to justify his appointment by the Governor and described his office as a ‘’miracle centre’’.

 He listed other achieves of his administration to include payment of bursary, women empowerment, youth empowerment and overall peace in Ibeno.

The chairman re-iterated the call for companies operating in Ibeno to Pay taxes to the area for development whether their head offices are located there or not; and called on firms to establish offices in Akwa ibom State.

Chairman of PDP in Eket, Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong and Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Essien Ndueso commended Chief Mkpah for justifying his appointment and urged the people of Ibeno to support the chairman and the governor in the avowed commitments to develop the state.
