For far so long we have sat on the sidelines watching helplessly our rights flagrantly deprived, our freedom constantly eroded and our voiced cordoned. For far so long we have been subjected to political tools in the fields during electioneering days and neglected to be used in another day of our functionality; a day the starvation we were subjected to by supposed principals is used as a tool to harness our creativity, strength and political prowess, even when our comrades stood grounds as sureties on our behalf; The youth’s interests were sacrificed on the altar of greed and selfishness just to perfect a scheme for self actualization, political relevancy and crowd dynasty etc, but today heralded a breakthrough with insights and stern believe in the spirit of unity of purpose.
I make it bold to conscientiously announce to the youths and every Akwa Ibom residents in Akwa Ibom that the coming of Aniefiok Iwaudofia as one of the emerging from a rear should be seen as " a reformer cum selfless servant ".
Glancing through his activities index from his years with Universal Energy Resources hitherto his inauguration as an assistant to the governor on youth matters, one will really feel relaxed from his insertions knowing that his capability of mobilization and reformation differs in style from the conventional. Apart from his accumulated academic qualifications relegating previous occupants of this juicy office, his convictions of making the youths who were sidelined during decision making in governmental affairs over years counteracts old norms of operations.
Under his mobilization ambience, his positive rhetoric’s on youth’s political participation captures the involving of youth in responsible, challenging action that meets genuine needs of the people with opportunities for planning and/or decision-making affecting others in the democratization process. Thus, meaningful youth political participation involves recognizing and nurturing the strengths, interests, and abilities of young people through the provision of real opportunities for youth to become involved in political decisions that affect them at individual and systemic levels.
This basic concept of participation by Aniefiok Iwaudofia however, is that people are free to involve themselves in social and developmental processes and that self-involvement is active, voluntary and informed. This and many more is the guarantor that Akwa Ibom youths under the leadership of this selfless patriot, a youth with salient sterling qualities, Aniefiok Iwaudofia will take us to our desired destination; a destination we will reap the fruits of our labour.
Before I join in the congratulatory mantra for Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia, Special Assistant on youth matters to the governor of Akwa Ibom state on his meritorious emergence as the grand commander of youths’ Chairman Akwa Ibom youth caucus, a socio-political youth structure in the state, let it be known that every youth is required to be a participant in building the future for posterity to emulate, for if we don’t, we will end up telling our generations unborn why we failed.
Congratulations Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia in this new accorded task, may Gods inspiration be the driver of your convictions.
