...Advises Youth of the area against being used to insult elders

Youths of Ibesikpo Asutan local government area have been enjoined to maintain peace in the area, and avoid acts capable of causing division amongs them. They have also been advised to respect elders.
Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke gave the charge, Wednesday, when he played host to members of executive of 'Esop Mkparawa Ibesikpo Asutan' who visited him in the House of Assembly complex.
Addressing them, Barr. Luke who formally was announced as the Iberedem ( Pillar of support) of Esop Mkparawa Iberedem Ibesikpo, said "Don't allow anybody to use you to insult elders in your local government area".
" Do everything to keep peace. Don't allow anybody to divide you, there should be peace in your local government area, because whenever you have rancor, it will affect other local government areas in the senatorial district".
He commended the youths of Ibesikpo Asutan for being supportive of the PDP and the governor Udom Emmanuel, and charged them to remain steadfast in their support to the government of the day. The Speaker said the decision to return the governor for a second term come 2019 is inline with the resolve of Akwa Ibom people to allow for equity, fairness and justice in the polity, pointing out that as it was with with ex-governor Victor Attah from Uyo senatorial district, his successor, Senator Godswill Akpabio from Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, same support must be accorded the current governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel who hails from Eket senatorial district to complete an eight year term in office.
Barr. Luke lauded the decision by the youth group to float a co-operative society aimed at enhancing their economic well-being, and pledged his support to growth and sustenance of the co-operative venture.
He congratulated the youths of the local government area for caliber of leaders produced from the area, and re-echoed the need for the youth continue accord due respect to elders and senior citizens of the local government area including the former Governor, Arch. Victor Attah, former state Chairman of the PDP, and immediate past Commissioner for Lands and Town planning, Prince Uwem Ita Etuk, their House of Assembly member, Hon. Aniekan Uko, Finance Commissioner, Mr. Nsikak Nkan, among other personalities from the area.
Earlier, the President of the group, Etubom David Jackson, commended the speaker for his leadership qualities, saying the visit was a further demonstration of their solidarity with the leadership of the House of Assembly.
He described Barr Luke as a legislator and great political mobilizer who is in tune with the grassroot. Mr. David said the decision to adopt the Speaker as their Pillar (Iberedem) was informed by his youth friendly disposition, and assured that the group is ready to return governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term in Ibesikpo Asutan come 2019.
He used the opportunity to unveil their co-operative society to the Speaker, saying the youths of the area decided to come together and form the co-operative society in response to the clarion call by the governor on youths to rise to their faith of greatness.
In attendance at the courtesy visit were the member representing Ikot Abasi /Eastern Obolo, Hon. Uduak Ududo and his counterpart from Oron/Udung-Uko, Hon. Effiong Bassey.
