I was in company of some fellow writers last night when we got wind of the "cancellation" of the 2face led National protest. I laughed so hard even as my fellow discussants roared in anger. I saw it coming. I told my friend Fejiro Oliver that 2face cannot be trusted. I am not in any way insinuating that he might have been compromised. My point is that 2face is too cowardly to led anything meaningful. He is one individual that cannot stand the sound of a gun. Not even a toy gun. The explosion from the Xmas firecrackers will tremble 2face. He will bolt like Bolt if he sights men in military uniforms even if they were bearing dam guns. We made a costly mistake wearing him a rob mightier than him.
2face depicts the real Nigerian in raw form. Quick to condenm and weak in leadership. 2face couldn't differentiate between serenading on stage, with pidgin English, and awakening the consciousness of famished Nigerians. 2face is now a caricature of a revolutionist. The legendary Fela of blessed memory will weep in the grave seeing that our music has lost its orthodox didactic and activist orientation.
The protest must go on as planned irrespective of what 2face writes on Instagram. This is not about one man but the fulcrum upon which this country stands. This is not about politics but the struggle for the Nigeria of our dream.
Come tomorrow, we shall hit the streets in pertinacious repudiation of this dysfunctional order. The propaganda of the mindlessly incongruous and the machinations of the slave masters will never break our spirit. Each of the proponents of this struggle has a face. Those with two faces have sprinted away in delusion and cowardice leaving the true patriots to tenaciously pursue this goal to a flowering end. Enough is enough.
