The special assistant to the Governor on project supervision. Pst. Mike Akpan has adopted an orphan for scholarship from JSS2 to university level.
The special assistant made this known at ikono people high school, ikono when the special assistant flagged off operation catch them young at his homecoming to the institution.
Pst Mike said arrangements has been made with the school and the family of the orphan for her to begin her education in uyo.
Its reported that the orphan is now living with Pst Mike, and also she has been enrolled in one of the best schools in uyo.
On receiving the girl, the wife of the special assistant, promised to take her as her very own offspring. Saying that it is her duty to show compassion on the poor, for he who gives to the poor lends to GOD. She further went on in giving her a menu of a continental cuisine to welcome her to the home.
The special assistant has promised to protect her and nurture her in the way of the lord. telling her that everything happens for a purpose that she should also learn from this and be a positive agent of transformation in the society.so that when she grows up,she will adopt others who do not have help in the society.
Pst. Mike Akpan who further said that he will continue to support the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel in sponsoring Akwa ibom youths to earn a better living through education.
The girl thanked the special assistant and his loving wife(in tears) for giving her a chance to be who God wants her to be in life, praying that God should continue to bless him abundantly.
She also thanked the governor for appointing an angel and a promise keeper as a special assistant.
