…Empower VGN To Seize Wares From Thursday

Irked by the incessant dumping of refuse in the gutters which silted the drainage around Akpan Andem and Itam markets, the Commissioner for Environment and Mineral resource, Dr. Ini-Obong Essien has given three days of grace for traders to move their wares to the approval market or face the weath of law in the state.
According to the Commissioner, officers and men of the vigilante group of Nigeria, under the command of group commander Joshua Michael Dickson shall from Thursday dismantle every illegal structures built of the pedestrian walkway of the markets as well as seizing every wares found in suchlike places.
Dr. Essien who expressed displeasure over the act warned that any act in the act of dumping refuse in the drainage system shall be treated in accordance with the law to serve as example to others.
He charged commander Dickson not to spare any illegal structure found around the pedestrian walkway, of the market, and called on the traders to stick to the Akwa Ibom State Government structure, to ensure a serine environment in the state.
The environment commissioner commended group commander Dickson for not compromising in his designed duties of eradicating roadside trading, loading and other illegal business n the major roads, and streets of Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. He promised to sustained the gesture until the entire city is freed from roadside trading.
On his part, the state commander, vigilante group of Nigeria, Group commander Joshua Dickson thanked the Akwa Ibom State government for the trust and confidence reposed on the vigilante group of Nigeria, and promised more better result in subsequent assignment.
Group commander Dickson said his effort to bring back the beauty of the state capital and other major lities in the state. He said VGN under his watch will not be distracted from its core mandate of fighting crime in Akwa Ibom Communities, to make the state a crime free zone.
Moreso, the special assistant to the governor on traders matters, Akparawa Idoenyin Raphael who accompanied the commissioner expressed confidence on the leadership of Group Commander Joshua Dickson, saying that, with the liees of him, sanity will return to both urban and rural areas of the state.
He specifically landed the VGN commander Akwa Ibom State VGN commander for his selfless service for the growth of the state.
