Most disturbing is that the discard bits and pieces of smelly septic domestic wastes along the road as they drive along.
The worst of it all is that they come to Wellington Bassey way off the Government House end to dispose these wastes at a dump site off Uyo village Road!
You need to see these trucks loaded with open/exposed refuse some of which drops as they move along. Its an eye sore!!
I was in Lagos where I lived before now, and I note they had similar challenges if not worse! I know how much I contributed to the success story of today, where the ketu dump site along Ikorodu Road and the Igando dump site along LASU/ Ojo Road are now transformed into wealth creation Centers!
We can do it in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State!
Your Excellency Sir, Governor Udom Emmanuel, I have a Modern module for decent refuse evacuation and waste management!
My experiences in India where I spent close to eight years of my life can make a difference as I add value to our state in this regard!
Please Dr. Iniobong Essien, Hon. Commissioner for Environment open your doors to my idea/proposals. I've since been knocking!
Please we must dispose our wastes appropriately! Lassa fever spread by rats which are attracted by these wastes in around us! Its all ready reported in neighbouring Rivers State! It's reported again in Rivers State!
Last year many deaths where deaths recorded!
We must Beware!
Besides, Uyo is the mirror with which visitors to the State see Akwa Ibom, we must therefore present Uyo and Akwa Ibom people in their true identity..... Cleanliness!!
Me dakka nda!
