The attention of the Publicity secretariat of the PDP has been drawn to an uninformed outburst by Senator Ita Enang acting through his 'media Aide', one Essien Inyang on the above subject matter.
The obvious aim of the poorly scripted article is to deceive the public to believe that the PDP has a hand or in fact engineered the prosecution of journalists especially Nsibiet John. Ordinarily we would have ignored this as their usual gimmick aimed at diverting attention from real issues affecting the generality of the people,to very pedestrian issues, but for the fact that an unreplied lie is deemed admitted. Neither I or the Party Chairman was reached and we can assure that no attempt was made to reach us.
On the Nsibiet case, we will refuse to comment because the matter is subjudice and we trust that all relevant issues will be canvassed in the court of law and not court of public opinion.
However, we state for the records that the PDP has no hand in the case and does not intend to interfere with the proceedings in the case, as we are not a party or witness in the case.No meeting was held anywhere on the subject Matter.
If the fictitious story came from any other quarters, we would have been surprised, but coming from a certified servant to a distinguished fact twister and professor of double speak, we are not surprised. It is obvious that to serve a man who dwells in falsehood, a person must have extra abilities to concoct lies and fabricate tales.
We must remind the Presidential Aide that what Nigerians, especially Akwa Ibom people want to hear from him is why the Senate (where he is a Presidential liaison officer) has rejected almost all the communication sent by Mr. President, key among them being the $29.9 loan request, non-career Ambassadors list etc. Additionally, being a year after the missing budget saga, it would be a very auspicious time to explain to Nigerians what really happened.
Finally, I wish to state that our party believes in the rule of law and will continue to uphold same.
Comrade Ini Ememobong
State Publicity Secretary
Peoples Democratic Party
