The Founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation, CHIEF (DR) MARCEL OFOMATA on Thursday 12th January, 2017 added weight to the above aphorism when he led a foremost Non Governmental Organization from the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA: IMABRIDGE AFRICA to Anambra State, South East Nigeria to offer a two Day FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT to the benefiting members of the town, neighboring communities and states.
Declaring the 2017 Free Medical Mission open at Ozalla Primary Health Care Centre in his town, the Founder of the Foundation, Dr. Marcel Ofomata, stressed that the Foundation attaches premium on the Healthcare services and needs of the benefiting members of the community and will consolidate on the gains of the scheme by making it a routine in the activities of the foundation.
The Founder reiterated that the Foundation will continue to partner with credible Non Governmental Organizations like IMABRIDGE AFRICA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in a bid to consolidate on the gains of the MEDICAL mission and core mandates of the Foundation.
Dr. Ofomata sincerely appreciate the leadership of Imabridge and the Nigeria Volunteers for being partners in the wheel of progress.
The 2017 edition of the Free Medical Mission had over TWENTY- FOUR medical Doctors, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Pharmacists from the United States of America and other Volunteers from Nigeria under the aegis of IMABRIDGE AFRICA to the South East where free medical diagnosis, Treatment, presentation of pearls, administration of vaccines, counselling and referrals to members of the community among others.
While welcoming the Founding Director- Rev. Fr. Godwin Nsikan-Ubom Asuquo and the leadership of Imabridge Africa to the State, he pledged to expand the frontiers of further partnership towards making life beautiful to members of the society.
Dr. Marcel Ofomata who is also the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AMAECOM GLOBAL LIMITED is a major partner of Imabridge Africa in Nigeria and is simultaneously sponsoring scholarships to students of the area in the Universities, Secondary / Primary Schools, release of a revolving Seed fund to Men and Women Age Grades for farming and Entrepreneurship as well as donation of revolving Tricycles Scheme to members of the community and employment opportunities.
During the second day of the mission, the Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joe Akabuike received the team at Government House and endorsed the Marcel Ofomata Foundation and the Imabridge Africa partners describing it as the most organized NGOs in the history of Medical Mission in the state when the Founder of the Foundation led the team to the State Governor on a courtesy visit.
Awards were later presented to the Anambra State Governor, Commissioner for Health and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health for their ingenuity in corporate leadership by the Marcel Ofomata Foundation.
In a related development, the Head of the Traditional Rulers Council in Aguata LGA, IGWE(COL.) C. O. MUOGHALU (rtd) and the President General of Isuofia Peoples Union Federated while welcoming the two NGOs to the community appreciated them for keeping faith and making the medical mission an annual event.
They disclosed that the impact of the 2016 edition of the free medical mission is still fresh in their memories and pledged to partner the NGOs in any regard.
The Traditional Rulers' Council particularly appreciated the Founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation, CHIEF (DR) MARCEL OFOMATA (ONWA ISUOFIA) for bringing Medical experts from USA and NIGERIA to the door step of the community.
The Igwe described Dr. Marcel Ofomata as a great asset to the community stressing that this gesture among others earned him the Traditional Chieftaincy Title of "ONWA ISUOFIA" (meaning the " LIGHT THAT SHINES in the community").
Over 500 people benefited from the Isuofia and Igboukwu treatment centres during the Two Days medical mission in the South East Nigeria. They beneficiaries unanimously appreciated and prayed for the sponsor of the medical tourism.
The 2017 medical mission ended with a reception ceremony at the residence of the Founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation Organization organized by the Community.
The Founder, Dr Marcel Ofomata used the avenue to present Awards to the Leadership of Imabridge Africa, USA, Nigeria Medical Doctors and Health Officer Volunteers amidst rich delicacies and cultural display.
The programme ended yesterday with a special Christian Mass held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Isuofia, Anambra State.
