The Chairman Akwa Ibom state Council of Chiefs, Paramount Ruler of Ibeno local government area, Owong Effiong Achianga, has described the monarch as the pioneer custodians and the bedrock of any law in the country as they act as implementors of the said law in the course of their direct dealings with the citizenry at the grassroots. He advised the legislators to deem it pertinent to always involve the traditional rulers in the process of making new laws or amending existing ones so that the traditional rulers can also contribute their quota either in the affirmative or otherwise.
The Royal father said this today at the Assembly complex shortly after presenting his inputs at the pubic hearing on " A bill for a law to appropriate monies out of the consolidated revenue fund and capital development fund to the service of Akwa Ibom state government and for other matters therewith". , organized by the House committee on Finance and Appropriation, chaired by Hon Usoro Akpanusoh- member representing Ibeno/ Esit Eket state constituency.
Achianga commended the committee for deeming it fit to also get input from the traditional rulers and described it as the first of its kind in previous pre-budget defense in the state and a good attribute to governor Udom Emmanuel and Speaker Luke's led government. He described udom Emmanuel as a good governor and called on those subordinates and agents working under the governor to work in tandem with the vision of the state chief Executive in order for the administration to succeed.
The monarch attributed the peaceful nature of the state to the commitment of the Royal fathers for good custodian of their respective domains and the law abiding citizens and sued for greater peace, harmony, mutual co-existence and understanding among the people.
