The attention of the Hon Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom State, Akparawa Ephraim Inyang has been drawn to a news story circulating on the social media that "Fire on Christmas evening, Sunday, razed the house of the Akwa Ibom State commissioner for works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, allegedly destroying about N33 million cash and other expensive personal valuables, Propellerng.com learnt Monday morning".
It is regrettable that mischief makers are taking advantage of the unfortunate incident of the fire accident at the Commissioner's private residence to churn out falsehood and lies.
For the avoidance of doubt, no such amount of money was kept at the home of the Honourable Commissioner. Therefore, the story with its several wild speculations should be disregarded.
The Commissioner deeply appreciates the show of love and solidarity from friends and well wishers that have expressed their concern over the accident.
He wishes the people of Akwa Ibom State a Merry Christmas and a rewarding 2017 in view.
