UDOM'S SUPPORT GROUPS MEET AHEAD 2019

**As Groups Leaders evaluate Governor's Udom performance

Ahead the 2019 governorship election, leaders of groups which supported Governor Udom Emmanuel election in 2015 met last Sunday to discuss on the way forward.

The meeting which was at the instance of Ambassador Ukai Udeme Emmanuel, International President of Akwa Ibom Afonama Initiative had in attendance over 1780 group leaders from the registered 2400 groups that worked for the emergence of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel.

The convener of the meeting Ambassador Ukai, told the over 1780 group leaders that the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel is sincere about his life-touching programmes. He said the meeting was organized in order for the leaders to brainstorm on issues bothering groups that supported Gov Udom Emmanuel.

"We thank God for today, the leaders of political groups you are seeing today are the people that believe in Governor Udom’s administration. Before Governor Udom emerged they all supported him, and up till now they are still supporting him. We came together to brainstorm and see how we can accommodate the interest of all this political groups", Ukai told newsmen.

Also speaking the International President Coalition of Youth Leaders, Mr Michael Joseph Okon said the meeting has given the group heads opportunity to express themselves. He also said the group leaders have scored His Excellency above average in his governance.

"Today was a meeting or reunion of group leaders, who have somehow been neglected or relegated to the background. Ukai called for this meeting so that the youth group leaders could express themselves. The group leaders have congratulated His Excellency on his achievements in the past months. The group leaders have assured that they will support His Excellency in 2019 and beyond".

The group leaders are expected to meet again next Sunday 27th November. Also in attendance were some aides of the governor - Mr Aniekan Ekwere, Mr Udo Ekwere and other dignitaries.
