Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is a rare gem in this political dispensation. Abians have realized that all the good leadership qualities they were looking out for are all inherent in the man Ikpeazu. Despite the well known truth that the Governor has witnessed several attempts aimed at cutting short his tenure, he has maintained commitment to keeping his campaign promises of delivering good and all-inclusive governance to Ndi Abia.
When you see someone who has eked his way through life amid strife, conflict and continuous battles, then you might understand how the biblical David lived and felt throughout his life time. As recorded in the Holy Bible, throughout the life of David, God gave him successes in everything he did. Like David, Ikpeazu has been surmounting all the obstacles and weathering these storms because God has been providing him with escape routes. Even faced with a fierce legal battle, it has been victory for Abia all the way just as his faith implies. God has continued to be with Gorvernor Ikpeazu as he was with Joseph when he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.
Abians speak volumes of Governor Ikpeazu's passion towards revamping the ailing economy of the state. More so, seeing the dire need to revitalize the markets and other commercial activities, which are the twin-life-blood of Abia state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) but have suffered from years of abject neglect and abandonment.
Against this backdrop, Governor Ikpeazu embarked on the construction of a comprehensive underground drainage systems to finally tackle the flooding at IFE OBARA/Ariaria area. He also combined it with the construction/dualization of Faulks Road (starting from Brass junction to 'ukwu mango' by Express junction to 'ukwu mango' leading to Ariaria) by SETRACO Construction Company.
The Governor also extended his passion make Abia an "Eldorado" to the dualization/construction of Umuahia/Ubakala Express road by ARAB Construction Company. These are testaments of dividends of good governance.
The Governor has not only maintained unshaken tempo in infrastructural development but has always made out time to openly interact with Abians on the affairs of the State.
The Governor has made it a tradition to always l present himself for interviews on call in radio programmes where Abians get clarifications on issues of the State. It defines transparency and accountability.
Development thrive in a peaceful environment. Investors invest where there is high propensity of return on investments and such area cannot be where there is a political challenge.
Now that construction works have started after the rainy season, now that contractors have gone back to site, it is a good opportunity for Abians to say "Enough is Enough". Allow the Governor to focus and develop the state to such height we all crave for.
All lovers of Abia must put hands together to develop the State. Unity is strength.
