Senator Ita Solomon Enang was born on August 23rd, 1962. He hails from Ididep, in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Ita Enang became a councillor in 1987 immediately after his National Youth Service (NYSC), and a member of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in 1992. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 1999 where he served for three consecutive terms (1999 - 2011) representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency. After spending 12years in the House of Representatives, he was elected into the Senate in 2011 to Represent Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom State. He is currently the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate).
In Nigeria and Akwa Ibom to be precise, our political nomenclature is centered on the doctrine of political godfatherism. This is a known and indisputable fact and is what is contributing to the problem we are facing today.
My differences with this Presidential aide is that right from the inception of his political sojourn for over twenty years till date, Senator Ita Enang cannot truly mention any tangible project he has executed. All the elections he won were through the help of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and yet he did nothing to maintain and promote the image of the Party that has advanced him to the political clime before he took the exit door.
How can a President who is after youth empowerment and fighting corruption appoint such a selfish, unprincipled and greedy politician into his cabinet? Is he not aware that Enang doesn't have any traceable pedigree despite the fact that he has collected huge amount of money during his days as National Assembly Member? Can he account for those monies especially the the Constituency Allowance?
Since he was appointed Presidential aide on Akwa Ibom matters, sorry! National Assembly matters (senate), his main focus is to denigrate the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Akwa Ibom people are not fools. We are educated and wise and we would not be swaged by any amount of mudslinging perpetrated by Enang and APC to get the attention of youths to support his Party ahead of 2019. As far as Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District is concern, if you bring a stick to stand election against Ita Enang, he will still fail woefully.
If you take a random sample questionnaire in his own community you will know that ninety nine percent of the constituents are accusing him of insensitivity, arrogance, self centeredness, pride and uncountability throughout his political sojourn. In fact, apart from the economic recession, another reason why I dislike Buhari's administration is appointing such a greedy and ungrateful person as his Senior Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters (Senate). We see his appointment as a lost percent to the Senatorial District, the state and South - South.
As a youth of Uyo Senatorial District who has been in the political corridor for a good number of years now, I can boldly say that Enang is Uyo worst political mistake and should not be taken serious.
