In recognition of his lawmaking prowess and humanitarian services to his father land, Rotary Club Int'l (District 9140 Abak), recently bestowed an Excellence Award to Hon. (Deac.) Otobong Akpan, Member Representing Ukanafun in the state House of Assembly.
Presenting the award to the lawmaker, the club's President, Rotarian Otuekong Wilson Inyang commended the lawmaker for deserving the public recognition which culminated to the award of excellence on him by the body.
Rotarian Otuekong Inyang who clearly stated that the award was given to only deserving persons who have used their good positions in the society to impact positively on the lives of the people, noted with satisfaction that Hon. Akpan fit favourably in such category and, congratulated him.
He enjoined other well placed persons in the state to follow suit by giving back to the people as such gestures, according to him, will be recognized by the organization and the larger society as well as boost their chances of prosperity.
Responding, the awardee and member representing Ukanafun in the state legislature, Hon. (Deac.) Otobong J. S. Akpan thanked the body for deeming him fit for the award, noting that the award will spur him to do more for the society especially his constituents.
The Lands, Housing and Urban Development Committee Chairman, however, dedicated the award to God All Mighty, his dear wife, Mfon and the entire Ukanafun Constituents for the opportunity given to him to serve and promised them better outings as possible.
The erudite lawmaker further expressed delight at what the Rotary Club has been doing for the society over the years, saying such feat is commended.
He said, " I want to use this medium to sincerely commend what the Rotary club is serve in our clime over these years. This is what our society needs to thrive and get to the next level. Thank you for the award and this, I promise, will spur me to do even more for the people. Therefore, I dedicate this award to God All Mighty, my dear wife and the entire Ukanafun constituents for being my sources of inspiration and progress".
