PRES. BUHARI, GOV. EMMANUEL, ORS BID FAREWELL TO LATE POLICE I. G. ETIM INYANG AS HE JOURNEYS HOME

As the remains of the  Late retired Inspector General of Police, Sir Etim Inyang, were laid to rest in his home town, a serene community of Enwang in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, the President and Commander In Chief Of the Armed Forces Mohammadu Buhari, has commiserated with the deceased family, Nigeria Police Force and entire people of Akwa Ibom State on the demise of the gallant Cop.

In a Condolence presented by the Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, described Late Sir Etim Inyang as a dedicated and patriotic Police Officer whose zeal for excellence facilitated his rise in rank and file in the Police Force to the pinnacle of the career. .

Similarly, the Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel said of the late Inspector General of Police as a man who has left behind a legacy of honesty , hard work and fellow feeling having exhibited the Dakkada spirit which enabled him to attain greatness in life.

He urged the bereaved family to immortalise the deceased by sustaining the sterling qualities which he planted as a legacy in the family and prayed for the repose of his soul.

Prelate Emeritus Sunday Mbang of The Methodist Church, in his sermon urged christians to live a righteous life while on earth stressing that they would give account of their stewardship before the creator.

Prelate Mbang noted that most Christians have compromise their core values of faith for materialism and crave for power which in is explanation is transient and reminded the sympathisers that life on earth is brief and that they should strive to make Heaven.

He took a swipe on Clerics that pride themselves with unnecessary Protocol describing it as a contradiction to the simple life of Jesus Christ who, as the son of God, humbled and surrendered himself to die for the redemption of mankind.

The biography of the deceased as presented by the first son, Inyang, indicated that Sir Etim Inyang was a stickler to hard work and that this sterling quality set him apart from his colleagues as a rising star destined to rise from the rank of Lance Corporal to the highest echelon as Inspector General in the Police Force.

Highpoint of the occasion was a parade mounted by Officers and Men of the Police Force as Knight of John and Charles Wesley bade farewell to their departed Brother Sir Etim Inyang.
