The Wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has advised the students of the state to shun cultism if they want to be great in life.
Mrs. Udom made the remark while flagging off Students Social Services Volunteer Scheme organized by the Office of the SA to Governor on Student Affairs to mark this year’s International Students Day. The Scheme is for students to volunteer in providing some social services to the state.
She said “You don’t need to belong to a cult group in other to be a great student because in Akwa Ibom State cultist are not in control but rather God is in charge”
The Governor’s wife also advised the female students not to be involved in immoral act, as they can survive and be what God’s wants them to be without intimate relationships.

The host, Special Assistant to Governor Udom on student affairs Comrade Otobong Akpan charged the students to be serious with their education and also support the government of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Highpoint of the event was the donation of money for this event for school fees to some financially challenged students from all the tertiary institutions in the state by Mrs. Martha Udom under the FEYReP platform.
In attendance was Her Excellency, Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel, Wife to the Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr (Mrs)Uduak Onofiok Luke; Head of Civil Service Mrs Ekerebong Akpan; Immediate past commissioner for Finance, Mr Akan Okon among several other dignitaries.
