Youths leaders of Oro Nation have risen unanimously to endorsed and pass vote of confidence on Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for a second term in office to complete his the developmental strides in Oro Nation.
The endorsement came few days after the traditional rulers from the area pass a similar vote of confidence on the governor stating his sincerity and commitment to oro course as the reason.
Speaking at the event, immediate pass Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Rt Hon Victor Antai told the youths that he was there to thank the past and present youth leaders of the area who have worked assiduously to ensure the emergence of the government. He added that the event was also designed to afford him the opportunity to inform the youth leaders of the package which Governor Emmanuel has for the Oro Nation.

Mr Antai noted "apart from the four new roads earlier given to us by the Governor, he has awarded contracts for the construction of Ebo Street to link the completed Post Office Road; Murtala Way, with link to Bassey Lane through Atta Street; Abestonic Access Road with outfall to safely discharge storm water from the just completed Anwana Esin Outfall Drain; and shorelines protection by customs.
He added that Governor Udom has re-awarded contracts for the dualization of Uyo-Oron Road from the Airport Road, and would in few weeks conclude arrangements with Rock Marine Company to commence ferry activities between Oron and Calabar.
Continuing he informed them already the Governor has awarded contracts for the construction of a 55.1km Ibaka Super Highway which according to him, "the said Highway is the only one in Akwa Ibom State with six lanes of four metres each having drains and outer lanes which would also have three spurs to the shorelines that shall have a large Ibaka Estate to serve visitors and residential needs of the Ibaka Deep Seaport Zone".
The event which took place at the residence of the immediate past International President of Essu Nlap Oro, Chief Okon Asuquo Enweme, had the pioneer International President of the body and current Zonal Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ulap Bishop Etim Ante, who all analyzed the good intent of the state Governor, based on the well informed programmes as listed by the former Commissioner, passed a vote of Confidence on the Governor, asking him to take his people-oriented governance beyond 2019.
The event was widely attended by those that matter in the youth leadership of Oro Nation, including the former transition chairman of Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area, Hon. Okpoyo Etifit, the current International President of Essu Nlap Oro, Comrade Joseph Bassey among many others who bore their minds on the commendable leadership strides of Governor Emmanuel and urged all Oro youths to remain undeterred in their support.
