....Appoints Akwarandu as the DG
The Imo state Peoples Democratic Party, ably led by Chief Barr. Charles Ezekwem, through the Office of the State Publicity Secretary, has inaugurated the Directorate of New Media as an office under the publicity department of the party.
The office which is headed by Aic Akwarandu as the Director General, was initiated in a bid to enhance the party's public communications and image, reach out to the people at the grassroot effectively and to offer concise, constructive and credible opposition to the ruling party as well as profer solutions to the problems of the state.
In a Press release made available to the press by the publicity Secretary, Hon. Damian Opara, the DG is saddled with the responsibility of uniting all party members through the new media and ensuring that the image of the party is not ridiculed.
In His acceptance speech, Akwarandu averred that the social media platform is not a one-man-show. He promised that the job will be done with the highest level of decorum.
He pleaded with all lovers of the party on social media to join hands in promoting the party, as it is the only alternative to the bad governance imo people are facing today.
He stressed that the platform will be used to unite all members of the party especially the youths who as at today are the live wire of the PDP. He thanked the party executives for the confidence reposed on him and promised to put in his best at all times.
It will be recalled that this is the first time the PDP in the state is thinking in this direction.
