Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has advised Nigerians to exhibit love and consistency in their relationships as that is the only way the nation will experience speedy development.
Speaking at the Government House, Port Harcourt on friday night during a Special 50th birthday Dinner for Mrs Vicky Sergeant Awuse, the wife of Prominent Rivers State Political Statesman, Chief Sergeant Awuse hosted by the Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, Governor Wike said consistent true love always gets rewarded with time.
He regretted that most politicians and public servants have in recent times chosen to adopt fake postures in their relationships with others, pointing out that such persons waiver at the slight challenge.
The governor praised Chief Sergeant Awuse and his wife, Mrs Vicky Awuse for standing by his family through the era of political campaign and turmoil.
He said: "Chief Sergeant Awuse was a strong pillar during the difficult political times. He took risks all through that period, standing firm irrespective of the political situation.
"His wife, also supported us vehemently all through the period. This family is a family that showed us great love and support and they have remained consistent. The lesson in this event is that consistency pays".
In her remarks, Wife of the Rivers State Governor, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike described the celebrant, Mrs Vicky Sergeant Awuse as a great teacher who has made meaningful a contributions to the educational sector of the state.
She said the celebrant's background as a teacher exudes qualities that promotes the right social lifestyle.
Justice Nyesom-Wike prayed God to grant Mrs Awuse long life for her to continue to contribute to the development of the state.
Husband of the celebrant, Chief Sergeant Awuse lauded Governor Wike and his wife for the honour done to his family through the Special 50th birthday Dinner for his wife.
The Special 50th birthday Dinner for Mrs Vicky Sergeant Awuse attracted prominent politicians, officials of the Rivers State Government , clergy and traditional rulers.
