*Martins Inyang emerges as IPAC Chairman
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Interparty Matters, Mr. Lawrence Udoh has called on political parties in the state to embrace peace and as well work hand in hand to support the administration of Deacon Udom Emmanuel.
The Governor's Aide made the call last Wednesdayduring the election of Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC) which was conducted at INEC state headquarter, Uyo.
While speaking, Mr. Udoh appreciated his Boss, Deacon Udom Emmanuel for his selfless service and sterling leadership qualities in piloting the affairs of the state and especially for carrying political parties along in the activities of the state.
He used theopportunity felicitates with the Governor and entire people of the state on the occasion of the 29th Anniversary celebration of the state and therefore used the opportunity seek support and cooperation of Akwa Ibom people to the Governor in order to succeed.
However, Akwa Ibom State chapter of Inter-party Advisory Council (IPAC) has held its election with Hon. Martins Inyang emerging as the body’s new Chairman.
The election which was held at the INEC
office in Uyo on Wednesday had in attendance chairmen of 27 political parties in the state and the Special Adviser to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Political Affairs, Hon. Anietie Etuk who monitored the exercise.
The election would have descended into chaos following what the Chairman of Accord Party in the state, Mr. Joe Itiaba described as a fraudulent process but for the swift intervention of the presiding officer and National Publicity Secretary of IPAC, Chief Onwudike.
The exercise went on smoothly after the early uproar that threatened the election which was attended by the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Obong Paul Ekpo.
