| Newly Commisioned Portable Water at Uruan Local Government Area |
Mr Emmanuel Nicholas who is also the Author of the thriller Novel, ‘’THE CRYING GHOST’’ hails from Ubok Obioma village in Nung Oku Uruan group of villages.
The media Aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel says his reason for providing portable water to his birth place is borne out the desire to alleviate the suffering of his people who have to trek more than two miles to a nearby community, Nna Enin, to fetch water for their use.
Responding on behalf the community, the Village Head of Ubok Obioama, HRH Obong Uduak Bassey, commended the Governor’s media Aide for bringing to an end the suffering of his people.
‘’for decades now we have been suffering, as our children and women have to travel over two miles to our neighbouring Community to fetch us water to drink, God will bless and take him to a higher place of glory.
Mr Emmanuel Nicholas is a respectable son of this community, for over five years now, he has been distributing bags of rice and wrappers to widows and other less privileged indigenes in this central Uruan ward 3 and we are so proud of him.
Let me also seize this opportunity and thank Governor Udom Emmanuel for finding him worthy to be appointed his aide.
‘Governor Udom Emmanuel has done well for Uruan local Government, he is first Governor who have awarded contract for the construction of internal roads in our community, we never had it this good, we were always marginalised and the anger of that marginalization always took Uruan people to the opposition party.’’
Now that Governor Udom has awarded the contract for the construction of Anua –Mbak –Nung Oku –Essiet beach Road, we all are excited and his second term is sure, Uruan will not be seen partying with the Opposition.
The media Aide to the Governor Emmanuel, Mr Emmanuel Nicholas apart from donating the portable water to Ubok Obioma also provided an alternative power source (Generating Plant) to cushion the effect of power outage while connecting pipes to supply water to nearby streets.
