.. PDP Chair Uyo Sues for Unity among youths.
The final of Ambassador Ukai youth Unity football competition has ended with Redeemed Fc emerging winner.
The tournament which was highly competitive saw Redeemed Fc emerging winner after defeating Victorious Fc through a 5-4 penalty shoot-out.
According to the sponsor of the tournament, Ambassador Ukia, a total of 21 Teams registered for the tournament which was aimed at developing young talents among youths of Uyo Local Government.
Speaking during the presentation of the trophy, the Uyo Local Government PDP chairman, Idorenyin Orok, said the idea behind the unity cup competition is to compliment the Dakkada Philosophy of Governor Udom Emmanuel who is leader of the party in the state, saying that youths in the state should rise to greatness, as the Governor means well for the people of Uyo senatorial district and Akwa Ibomites in general.
He used the opportunity to sue for peace and unity among the people, saying that "without peace development cannot take place in any community", and urged them to key into the industrialization policy of the Governor.
The winner of the competition, Redeemed Fc went home with N50,000 while Victorious Fc who emerge second went home with N30,000.
The Soccer Ministers went home with N20,000 after clinching the 3rd position.
Dignitaries at the Grand Finale included, Idorenyin Orok, The PDP Chapter Chairman Uyo, Godfada Umoh Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, David Sergeant Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Prince Umoh Ekpo Special Assistant on Project Monitoring and many others.
