Popular village in Ibiono Ibom LGA, Use Ndon will have a Mini-paint industry situated in it soonest.
The hint was dropped by one of its sons, Barrister Ini Ememobong at the end of a week-long training of youths of the village in paint making last Saturday.
The training was sponsored by Barr. Ememobong, who is currently serving as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters.
At the event, there was live exhibition of paint making by the 18 trainees who were drawn from Use Ndon, Ididep and other neighboring villages.
Comrade Ememobong said the Empowerment/training exercise was his own way giving back to Ibiono, and Use Ndon (in particular), a village he said has produced 3 Council Chairmen of Ibiono Ibom.
The former students leader said at the event held at Use Ndon Council hall that more of such empowerment is coming the way of his people.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Branding and Marketing, Mrs Lydia Udoh said she is excited to see that the youths of Use Ndon has heeded the call of His Excellency to rise to the faith of greatness, saying she will wholeheartedly support the trainees. She however made an initial order of 20 drums of paints made by the trainees.
The Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akan Okon while speaking glowingly of the initiative by Ememobong, urged the trainees to be safety-conscious as the chemicals used for the paint manufacturing is toxic.
He said he was excited to witness the trainees mix and produce paints under such circumstances, saying equipments will be bought and installed in the village for the trainees to make use of.
Earlier, the Chairman on the occasion, Dr. Iniobong Essien who is the Commissioner for Environment in the state said he was impressed by Ememobong's passion to empower his people, urging him to continue in his good works.
It could be recalled that this is the 2nd empowerment program embarked upon by Ememobong under 3months.
