Mary Udo Nigeria- I am a sickler and though my health condition was diagnosed at a tender age, my parents were still faced with huge challenges of keeping me alive because of the little health care services we were privileged to.

We lived in a remote village where there was no good health care services or access to medical informations. Well I experienced and survived through those horrible days and nights even though we lost a brother to it. While we still have lots of cases with children living with this health challenges and unlike my case, most parents are unaware but simply tagged the child as an evil child who is sent as a curse.

Sickle children are exceptionally bright with an I.Q ranging way above average, they are fast thinkers and explorative. Engaging such bright minds can only change the world for the better with the quality of their brain only if we join hands together to help them live a quality life.

Therefore a sickle child needs quick access to medical care/medical practitioners as at when the crisis start, they need good amount of nutritious meals which is lacking in the rural region. Most importantly, they need to be educated on their health challenges.
