FISH OUT KIDNAPPERS IN IKOT ABASI, POLICE CHIEF ORDERS A'IBOM OFFICERS

Officers and men of Akwa Ibom State Police Command got a marching order yesterday from the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase.

They are charged to fish out kidnappers and other criminals, who have been terrorising residents of Ikot Abasi, the oil-rich region of the State, in the last few weeks.
Addressing the officers at the State Command Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, as part of his visit to Akwa Ibom, the Inspector General promised to reward police officers who arrest the criminals.

He said nobody or group has the rights to hold others to ransom, assuring residents of Ikot Abasi that those making life to be difficult for them, would be arrested and prosecuted in no distant time.
Mr. Arase appealed to the people to cooperate with the police, by providing them with useful information that could assist security operatives.

The Police Boss, who described Akwa Ibom as one of the peaceful and safest States in the country, warned criminals to either hang up or be ready for the full weight of the law.
