A former governorship aspirant in Akwa Ibom, Justice Rev (Dr) Nya Ebito is dead.TheMail learnt that the retired justice died on Wednesday night after a relapse of a kidney condition.
We learnt from a family source, that in the build up to the 2014 PDP governorship primaries, Dr. Ebito neglected himself by not properly taking care of the kidney situation, investing his money, time and resources in becoming governor of the state.
The kidney condition, according to Findings by TheMail deteriorated, becoming extremely hard for the Oro-born clergy to manage.
Recently at a thanksgiving in House of God Ministries (a church where he is the founder and presiding pastor) in honour of AKHA member, Hon. Nse Essien, he openly told the governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel that he (Ebito) and others were schemed out of the PDP primary in favour of the governor.
He was an advocate of a single five-year term for the president, governors and state and National Assembly members.
He voluntarily retired as a High Court Judge in 2010, stating that it was God’s order. Before his retirement, he had served as Chief Magistrate and Chief Registrar.
