... Consumers Cry Out over scarcity of product Nationwide

Champion Lager Beer, manufactured by Champion Breweries , Uyo, Akwa Ibom State is currently off the market.
Consumers of their products have made series of complaints about unavailability of their brands in the market which ignited an investigation into the reason why the favorite beer of millions of Nigerians and foreigners in the country seem to be off the shelf at bars and sit outs.
Our investigation reveals that the shortage of the product in the market is as a result of crisis with the host community Nung Oku, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State where the brewery is sited, this has since hindered distribution.
Crisis between host communities and corporate establishments is not new in Nigeria, in the case of Champion Breweries, according to our findings, on the negotiation for Corporate Social Responsibility project by the company,the host community requested for cows and cash in place of the electricity earlier promised by the company, all of which they received, only to return after sometime to request for electricity and additional cash, especially for aggrieved youth.
