MRS ATIM ANYANGA TAKES OVER AS PERMANENT SECRETARY STATE SECONDARY EDUCATION BOARD

 

Harrison Essien [UYO] -Power has changed hands at Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board. 

The Board now has Mrs Atim Anyanga as Permanent Secretary, following the redeployment of the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Elder Akpan Solomon Akpan to the State Technical Schools Board. 

At the handing over ceremony held today in Uyo, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Elder Akpan expressed appreciation to God and the State Government for giving him the opportunity to contribute to the growth of education sector.

He said he would never forget the staff of the Board, alongside team of directors both at the Headquarters and Local Education Committees, for standing by him throughout his tenure.

Elder Akpan, whose face was beamed with smiles during the event, described his status in the Board as rewarding, and solicited support of the staff to the new administration.

The new Permanent Secretary, Mrs Atim Anyanga thanked the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the Head of Civil Service, Mrs Ekereobong Akpan for the confidence reposed in him.

She promised to protect and promote the welfare of staff, while working harder to consolidate on the achievements of her predecessor for the overall development of the Board.

At the event, described as the first of its kind, since the establishment of the Board, the Head of Civil Service, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Cooperatives and Food Sufficiency, Mr. Effiong Peters congratulated the incoming and outgoing Permanent Secretaries on their elevations and wished them success in their new assignments.

In a goodwill message, Commissioner for Education, Elder Aniekan Akpan, represented by the Special Assistant on Education Monitoring, Akparawa Udeme Udofia, paid tributes to Elder Akpan Solomon Akpan for his hard work and commitment to translating government policies and programmes to concrete realities.

Some staff of the Board, described the outgoing Permanent Secretary as friendly, said he will be missed for fatherly nature.
