By Henshaw NYONG, Uyo. The State Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Dr Iniobong Ene Essien, has confirmed there would be no restriction of movement from 7 a.m. to 10am. for February sanitation exercise going on about now.
However, Akwa Ibom usually imposed restriction on the last Saturday of every month to enable the residents of the State to clean their environment.
According to the Environment Commissioner, the government SUSPENDED the restriction to allow students, invigilators and other stakeholders participate effectively in the examination organised by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) which begins today, Saturday, 27th February, 2016.
He stated, however, that the usual sanitation exercise would still be observed by residents in their homes, albeit with movement.
``We, however, appeal to residents to still observe the period and use it to clean their environment for their wellbeing and that of the state,’’ Dr Essien said.
