The Akwa Ibom State Government today paid a condolence visit to the family of the former Paramount Ruler of Eastern Obolo, Late Uboon Apostle Owen S. Ukafia Edeh in his home town.
Speaking, Governor Udom commiserate with the late monarch's family while describing him has a disciplinarian and a peacemaker who never condone violence while he was alive.
The governor, who was speaking through the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai who poured encomium on the late monarch added that the deceased left when the state needed him most.
In a response, the wife of the late monarch Her Royal Majesty Henrita Owen S. Ukafia thanked the state Government for deeming it fit in paying a condolence visit to the family and pray God continuous guidance and protection upon the government in carrying out their responsibilities.
Also Speaking, the Former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Adasi Obulum thanked the Government for their gesture to the family and the people of Eastern Obolo.
He praised the late Paramount Ruler for his contribution to the creation of the Local Government Area.
The late monarch will be laid to rest on Saturday 13, February 2016 at the deceased compound, Okoroette, Eastern Obolo Local Government Area.
In attendance were; Directors from the Ministry of Local government and chieftaincy affairs, Secretary of Traditional Rulers Council, Pastor Salvanus Ukafia (son of the deceased) and other Traditional Chiefs.
Highpoint of event was the donation of state government package to the family.
