The people of Akwa Ibom South(Eket) senatorial district have concluded plans to receive and celebrate their son and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Mr Udom Emmanuel following his victory and subsequent swearing in as Governor.
The ceremony to be chaired by a former Minister of Lands and Housing, and one time Chairman of the South South Caucus in the national assembly Chief Nduese Essien is organized by the Eket Senatorial District Forum and will commence by10am.
The event aptly captured as a Mega Rally, is slated for Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Eket township Stadium and will witness the celebration of the lofty strides by the State Governor in the last seven months in office especially in the areas of wealth creation, industrialization, youth/women empowerment and sustainable development.
According to the Publicity Sub Committee Chairman of the planning Committee and member representing Mkpat Enin State constituency in the House of Assembly, Mr Otobong Ndem, the homecoming rally will afford the district opportunity to celebrate the governor and the massive support he has enjoyed from all sections of the state.
Colourful cultural troupes accompanying delegates are expected to adorn the streets enroute the Eket stadium from all the 12 local government areas in Eket Senatorial district.
