ABAK NULGE BOSS, LG CHAIRMAN DISMISS REPORTED WORKERS’ PROTEST by Atuekong Paul Bassey

ATUEKONG PAUL BASSEY [ABAK] - Contrary to claims by an online newspaper medium that a cross-section of NULGE members Abak local government  Chapter barred the transition chairman,  Hon. Emma UDOSEN from entering the local government Council on Monday, the Abak Chapter Chairman of NULGE, Mr. Aniefiok has come out to refute media report as totally baseless and false.

The NULGE boss who frowned at such insinuation against the workers, stressed that those who perpetrated the ignoble publication where hoodlums whose intentions were to disrupt the peaceful working environment at the Council headquarters.

In his words "last weekend we had a successful executive meeting with Governor Udom Emmanuel who  was able to address all our grey areas, and as such we had no reason to embark on any industrial action.”
Mr Aniefiok said, "I was shocked when I received a phone call that NULGE members were carrying out protest at the Council headquarters and insisted that no member of the workforce in the area took place in any protest action.

In a separate reaction,  the transition chairman,  Hon. Udosen described the recent media attack as falsehood and baseless, aimed at discrediting the tremendous steps by Governor Udom Emmanuel to settle all outstanding arrears owed by state government to its workers.

“It is on record that since the assumption of the present administration,  the state governor has make payment of workers salary both in state and local government his major priority.” He concluded.
