The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Barr) Onofiok Luke this evening announced his first major appointment. He has appointed Mr Kufre Okon as his Chief Press Secretary.
The Speaker made the announcement earlier today in his office, stating that the appointment takes effect immediately.
Mr Okon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts (Second Class Upper) from the University of Uyo as well as a Diploma in Mass Communication obtained from the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State. He has been an active journalist, a media strategist, and a prolific image manager.
He is a former President of the Association of Communication Arts Students, University of Uyo Chapter, and a recipient of the Michael BUSH award for academic excellence. He is a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
The Speaker congratulated Mr Okon on his new appointment, while expressing confidence in his capacity to deliver effectively in his new role.
