The two time governor of speaking on Sweet FM, Abeokuta recently, said: “While I was the governor of Ogun State, Makarfi was a governor, also while I was still the governor, Ali Modu-Sheriff was also a governor.
So the two of them are close to me. The two sides must work together, because the road to victory has no room for divisionism. “It is not only the PDP that has crisis, the APC also has its own share of crisis.
The only difference is that while, we in the PDP have not been able to manage our own, the APC has been able to manage their own.” Daniel added that former president Olusegun Obasanjo would have put an end to the current crisis rocking the PDP if he were still a member of the party.
He advised the warring Ali Modu-Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi camps to close ranks and work together in order to ensure victory of party at the polls in 2019, adding that Obasanjo’s exit left the party with no more father figure to refer to in terms of crisis resolution.
He said: “If it were the time President Olusegun Obasanjo was still in the party, we would have gone to him and one way or the other, he would have resolved the crisis. Currently, there are many local champions in the party.
The party does no longer have a spirit”. While the PDP and APC continue to trade blames over who should be responsible for the crises in the country, it has been revealed that the real cause of the challenges currently facing the country is the result of a lack of foresight on the part of those who established modern Nigeria.
Comrade Debo Adeniran, the head of the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL), told NAIJ.com on Friday, September 16, 2016, at the 2016 symposium organized by The Tunji Braithwaite Foundation that neither parties should be blamed for the many issues that have enveloped the country.
